Requirements to Become a Nursing Assistant in Maine
To work as a CNA in Maine, you will need to complete a state-approved training program. Your curriculum will contain a combination of lectures and clinics focusing on such areas as observation, reporting, and documentation, and patients’ mental and physical needs.
You will need to submit to criminal background check at your school.After completing the required training, you will need to pass the state’s CNA certification exam.
Completion of an approved CNA training program, clearing a criminal background check, and passing the state’s CNA certification exam will add you to the list of Certified Nursing Assistants on Maine’s Nurse Aide Registry.
