In Kentucky, CNAs are known as State-Registered Nursing Aides (SRNA). For you to become an SRNA, you will need to complete a state-approved CNA program. Additionally, your training should consist of at least 75 hours of classroom lectures and clinical experience.

Upon completion of your training, you can sit for the state’s CNA Certification Exam. This is a two-part test: a multiple-choice section and a practical skills portion.

You must pass this exam to become certified and gain a place on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry.
